Well, the inaugural Legends of the Squared Circle event is in the books and it was a very successful night. The fans walked away happy and their bellies were full of the wares of The Cupcake Ladies. But the main reason they were there: TNA Superstar SHARKBOY!!!
The night started off with LSC owner Mr. Jenkins wanting his "boys" introduced; The Mountain Men. On their shoulders were the LSC Tag straps. They left them at ringside and the card began. Match 1 was the first of the semi-final matches for the straps and featured the team of Brutally Handsome (Brutal Bellman & "Handsome" Donny Redd) taking on the Smokin' Aces (Zakk Spades & AJB). The experience and the brawling of Brutally Handsome overcame the youth and flying of the Aces to advance to the finals. This was one of the best matches of the night.
Next was a 3-way dance with the winner earning a spot in the Fatal 4-Way match for the LSC HWT title next month. The combatants were Lil C, Jason Kimera and the popular J-Roc. There wasn't anything spectacular about the match, but didn't put you to sleep either. J-Roc got the win to earn the spot.
The second semi-final match was next and featured the team of Gee Gee and C-Dub, otherwise known as Punk Rock Rebellion and the new team of Mike "The Moose" Musso and The S.I. (Moose Intrusion) led by Lincoln Alexander Black. For much of the match, the strength and size of "The Moose" offset the acrobatic ability of PRR, Things broke down between S.I. and Musso when a foreign object came into play. S.I. refused to use it and that refusal led to his teams defeat. After the match, Musso Pearl Harbored S.I. and left him laying in the ring.
Next up was the match-up between "The Sarge" and TNA Superstar SHARKBOY. I do need to mention that Ledbetter was accompanied to the ring by a guy who resembled a male version of Chyna. Ledbetter was able to ground the flying (or swimming) Sharkboy for a good portion of the match, though Sharkboy thrilled the crowd with his athleticism. But in the end it was Sharkboy picking up the win. After the match, Mr. Jenkins had a surprise for Sharkboy and had a young fan celebrating a birthday come to the ring.
After intermission, making their debut was the Fugly family. Fugly, no kidding. Haystacks and MoonDog. Wow. They came out and danced in the ring and waited for MoonDog's opponent and Mr. Jenkins came out with The Mountain Men in tow who entered the ring and basically destroyed the newcomer.
After they left, Scary Garry and the Life Power Church came to the ring and laid down a challenge that was met by Canadian wrestler, Corvis. Corvis faced LPC member Todd Mullins and defeated him, much to the chagrin of Scary Garry and whatever that was that was out there too. This wasn't a bad match, but not great either.
The next match featured one of the better young talents in SW Ohio today in "Die Hard" Tom McClane. He took on newcomer Jack Verville, defeating him and proving his worth within the company. This was a very good match as both competitors kept the crowd interested.Keep an eye on McClane, He could be on top of any promotion soon.
This brings us to the Main Event which was also the LSC Tag Team title match. Brutally Handsome faced off against Punk Rock Rebellion. This match went back and forth as the ruthless Brutally Handsome did everything they could to ground the high-flying PRR. And it was the underhanded tricks of BH that got them the victory and the Tag Team championships. After the bell, they continued the beatdown on the Rebellion until the Smokin' Aces hit the ring to make the save. PRR took exception to this and these two teams began to brawl and BH got involved and it was total chaos til word came from the back that on July 23rd at LSC: GoldRush, Brutally Handsome will defend the titles in a Triple threat match against Punk Rock Rebellion AND the Smokin' Aces.
